A New Bike Lane!

Yes it is true. A new bike lane has been installed on Dawes Road in East York. The new bike lane was built as part of Councillor Janet Davis' Dawes Road Revitalization Project which also included the reconfiguration of the intersection where Dawes Road and Ferris Road meet Victoria Park Avenue. Plus a new piece of public art called "Dawes Crossing" was commissioned for the improved intersection. "Dawes Crossing" celebrates the history of Dawes Road as a rural route that brought farmers down to Danforth (then Kingston Road) and on to the St Lawrence Market. Come show your support for building new bike lanes and public art with a group ride up the length of Dawes Road. On June 22nd at 10 AM, meet at Dawes Road on the north side of Danforth Avenue. We'll end the ride at 11 AM at Dawes and Victoria Park for some refreshments and the Grand Opening of "Dawes Crossing".  Come support the creation of a Ward 31 cycling group and meet other local cyclists!
